Babysitting Clinic
Saturday, March 17, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. The fee for this course is $20, which includes lunch. This program is for ages 11 and older. To register, please call (815) 664-1613.

Third Friday of every month, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
Diabetes Education Classes
Classes meet once a week for four weeks. Different topics will be covered each week.
During the months of January, March, May, July and September, class will meet on
Mondays, from 1:30-3:30 p.m.
During the months of February, April, June, August and October, class will meet on Mondays, from 7-9 p.m.

Week 1:
“Overview of Diabetes, Complications and Monitoring,” presented by Pat Schummer, RN, MS
Week 2:
“Nutrition and Diet,” presented by Marilyn Csernus,
MS, RD, LDN
Week 3:
“Medications,” presented by C. Slingsby, Pharm D and
L. Brophy, Pharm D, and “Stress Management,”
presented by TBA.
Week 4:
“Exercise and Activity,” presented by Candy Ference,
Exercise Specialist, and “Foot, Skin and Oral Care,”
presented by Pat Schummer, RN, MS

Childbirth Education
• Prenatal/Lamaze Classes: Classes meet for four consecutive weeks
and start on Jan. 9, Mar. 5, Apr. 30, July 9, Aug. 27 and Nov. 5. They are held in the St. Margaret’s First Floor Presentation Room, from 6:30-9:30 p.m.
• Sibling Classes (for 3-8 years olds preparing to welcome a new baby
into the family)- Classes will be held at 10 a.m. in Room 309 at the hospital. Dates for 2012: Feb. 4, Mar. 31, June 2, Aug. 4, Sept. 29 and Dec. 1.
• ABC Prenatal Classes (for pregnant women in their first and second
trimesters of pregnancy), will be held Feb. 6, Apr. 2, June 4, Aug. 6, Oct. 1 and Dec. 3. They will take place at
6:30 p.m. in St. Margaret’s First Floor Presentation Room.

St. Margaret’s Medication Review Service
Participants are asked to bring in their prescriptions and over-the-counter medications. Pharmacists will be available to discuss medications and potential reactions. Please set up an appointment with the pharmacists by calling St. Margaret’s Hospital Occupational Health Department, at 815-664-1613 or 815-223-5346, ext. 1613.
"Visions" Support Group Schedules Meeting
“Visions,” a support group for the blind and visually impaired, will meet from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 2, in St. Margaret’s First Floor Presentation Room.
“Visions” meets regularly on the first and third Thursday of each month from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. For more information, call (815) 664-1440.
Mom’s Special Helper Sibling Class To Be Held At St. Margaret’s
St. Margaret’s will hold a Mom’s Special Helper Sibling Class for soon-to-be big brothers and sisters on Saturday, Feb. 4 at 10 a.m. in room 309 on the third floor of the Hospital. The class will be conducted through the use of a video, demonstrations, and storybook readings. A tour of the Family Birthing Centre will be provided, and participants will receive refreshments, certificates, a gift bag and souvenir handouts.
